A Thanksgiving tradition in Kansas City as old as the Country Club Plaza itself has grown as the Plaza has done the same. 

Nowadays, the November 24, 2022  event is huge, with live music, giveaways, activities, and more. A local celebrity usually does the honors of flipping the switch on 80 miles worth of lights – that’s more than 200,000 bulbs! If it wasn’t officially Christmas time before that switch was flipped, it definitely feels that way afterwards.

Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
